Weatherization Services TREHAB Weatherization serves the following counties in Pennsylvania: Weatherization Services help reduce the cost of energy usage around the home through the installation of energy saving tools, utilities, and appliances. Energy education through Weatherization is also in place to assist clients in utilizing their energy more efficiently to further reduce energy costs. It is aimed at helping the elderly, handicap and the low-income. Anyone whom is income-eligible may apply. The program is designed to help households save energy and heat, address health and safety issues, increase financial independence and provide education in energy-efficient practices. Please review the Federal Poverty Guidelines before applying. Funding for these programs is provided for by the PA Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED), office of Community Services, for low-income families. Services provided include:
How does it work?
The Weatherization staff includes a director, three administrative clerks and thirteen crew members. Crews and warehouses are located in Montrose - Susquehanna County, Towanda - Bradford County, and Wellsboro - Tioga County, all supported with seven trucks and equipment. Employees are educated and trained in all facets of energy savings and weatherization techniques, with ongoing education and training a top priority to keep up with weatherization technologies which are constantly changing and improving.
