Station House ApartmentsRenovation of this keystone building, located at 243 Main Street in Susquehanna, Susquehanna County has started. The building, built approximately in 1900 is in a state of disrepair and will undergo major renovation. Once completed, the project will provide six apartments on 2nd and 3rd floors for the elderly and two commercial units on first floor. Project cost is estimated at $1.8 million. See Details << Back to Housing Development The 'Station House Apartments' is a large 3-story brick structure located in the heart of Susquehanna Borough and is presently vacant. Interior demolition work (first stage of the renovation) started early summer 2008. Total exterior and interior renovation is expected to take approximately one year to complete. This $1.8 million project will take a building in a state of disrepair and create modern, affordable, and very comfortable apartments for the elderly. There will be 4 one-bedroom apartments and 2 two-bedroom apartments. The interior of this structure will be completely gutted and rebuilt. All plumbing, heating and electrical systems will be replaced and an elevator will be installed. All windows will be replaced and the apartments will be well insulated for heating and air conditioning energy efficiency. Appliances will be provided in each apartment, including availability of in-house washers and dryers. Necessary services, such as a grocery store, pharmacy, convenience store, restaurants, banks, post office, and other miscellaneous stores are located within walking distance.
