The first affordable family townhouse community for Bradford County in more than 20 years, will soon become a reality. Site excavation work is almost complete and building construction is underway. Located in north Towanda Borough, Oak Ridge will contain 40 townhouses, 28 two-bedroom and 12 three-bedroom units for low-to-moderate income families.

Oak Ridge Townhouses located off Colonial Drive in north Towanda is being developed by TREHAB and Monarch Development Group, a Pennsylvania for-profit corporation. TREHAB will manage this project once complete. Site excavation work of this 8.95 acre site is almost complete, utility excavation and installation is in progress, and building construction is well underway. The first two buildings of this 6 million dollar development are schedule to be completed by the end of December, 2008.
This site will provide 40 energy efficient townhouses for low-to-moderate income working people. Several units will be handicap accessible. There will be 28 two-bedroom and 12 three bedroom units in seven residential buildings and one building containing a community room and office. Each townhouse will be heated by natural gas, have central air conditioning and appliances will be provided. Ample on-site parking will be available.
The site is located in a strategic location that provides easy access to Rt. 6 and Rt. 220, to major employers in Bradford County, and to a large variety of services including banks, grocery store, restaurants, doctor offices, hospital, convenience stores and within a few miles of a elementary-high school, as well as day care centers.
