Workforce Investment Act Programs
Adult & Dislocated Worker programs are funded by the Department of Labor through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), providing eligible individuals with career counseling, pre-vocational preparation, basic skills improvement, on-the-job training, occupational skills training and job search assistance. The goal is to assist them in obtaining gainful employment. These programs serve Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga and Wyoming counties.

- Youth Program - When an eligible youth is seeking assistance in achieving academic and employment success, WIA provides comprehensive activities that encourage school completion, improve educational attainment, and promote effective linkages to employers.
Other Programs
Employment Advancement and Retention Network (EARN) - Developed to address the needs of parents receiving cash assistance with barriers to employment, EARN is designed to provide intensive case management, education, training, work activities, job placement and retention services, and supportive services to enable them to move rapidly from dependence to independence through employment.

Work Ready Program (WR) - Developed to address the needs of welfare clients with barriers to employment, WR is designed to provide intensive case management, education, training, work activities, job placement and retention services, and supportive services to recipients of cash assistance to enable them to move rapidly from dependence to independence through employment.
GED CLASSES- These are available to anyone regardless of income. Interested individuals should call Trehab in their county to sign up. All new students attend an initial information and assessment class at which the times and days that classes are currently available are given. New students may begin as soon as they have completed this initial class. Available to anyone 17 years and older who is not currently enrolled in school.

Worldwide Interactive Network (WIN) and WorkKeys Assessments- Designed to match essential job skills with employee knowlege and ability, the WIN and WorkKeys assessments work together to provide both job seekers and employers with valuable training and information. Clients work through practice tests prior to taking the standardized WorkKeys exam within a controlled environment. If scores demonstrate weakness in a particular subject area, remediation modules and instructor assistance are available.
