Drug & Alcohol Treatment Programs

Finding the best place to obtain help for yourself or a loved one who is using alcohol or other drugs can be an overwhelming experience. There are so many questions that an individual has about…where do you start the list?

TREHAB offers a wide range of outpatient services in Montrose to help individuals in Susquehanna County identify their problems, help them see there is a better way to live, and teach them the skills they need to live without substances. We offer programs addressing early use of substances to increasing dependence. We have developed programs based upon years of research, and that are focused on assisting the individual in preparing for a lifetime of being successfully drug free.

Our Values

TREHAB strives to ensure that we are welcoming and respectful to all. We tailor our services to the needs, concerns, and values of individuals and their families. Serving residents of Susquehanna County who are suffering from addiction issues is our highest priority. We are sensitive to individuals' varying abilities and learning styles, and we strive to be culturally sensitive and to advocate equity in all that we do.

What If I'm On A Fixed Income?

We accept medical assistance and some insurance policies. For those who are found to be ineligible for medical assistance, we offer moderate rates for services and a sliding scale based on income and family size. (Clients must provide documentation to be found eligible for the sliding scale.) No one will be turned away from treatment based on his or her ability or inability to pay.

Following is a brief description of the services and programs that we offer at TREHAB:

  • Comprehensive Screening & Assessment

An assessment of a person's relationship to mood-altering chemicals is performed and the results are discussed at length with the client. The purpose of this service is to raise the person's awareness regarding his/her relationship with mood-altering substances and, based on assessment results, to offer the individual a choice of treatment options. The screening and assessment process may take between one and three sessions to complete.
  • Individual Counseling Services

Individual sessions are scheduled on a case-by-case basis, depending on the particular needs of the individual client. Individual sessions may also be used as part of our step-down process (i.e. discharging planning or when an individual moves from one TREHAB program to another).
  • Group Experiences

    • S.A.M.E. (Self-Assessment, Motivation & Education) Group

This group experience is for those who need assistance in the recognition, understanding and acceptance of their chemical dependency and the recovery process. The treatment and counseling goal is to provide education regarding the nature of addiction, the negative effects of chemical use and what the recovery and relapse processes are. Our hope is to help the clients in developing personal motivation to effect a change in their chemical use.
    • Relapse Prevention Education & Counseling Group

This group provides care for persons assessed at high risk for relapse (return to drug use/abuse). Participants learn that relapse and recovery are both processes that require awareness, understanding, acceptance and planning to avoid a return to substance use. The clients reach their goals through group activities/exercises and interactions that focus on identifying and managing high-risk situations and relapse warning signs.
    • Adolescent Recovery Group

This group is open to adolescents who need help because of a problem related to their use of mood-altering chemicals. Members are given assigned readings and relevant handouts and assignments to complete. The sessions are used to discuss readings and/or handouts and participate in group activities/exercises. Videos will also be integrated into some sessions.
    • Education Group

This group experience is for persons who may be at high risk for alcohol and other drug abuse and chemical dependency. The purpose of the group is to provide reliable/relevant information to raise awareness about problems or risk factors related to substance use. Group members are helped to recognize the harmful consequences of unreasonable substance use. People in the group use such information to make behavior changes and to avoid problems related to substance abuse.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program

This is a four-week, two-hour session, three days/week program for individuals who are willing and motivated to establish a successful recovery program for themselves and confront all aspects of their addiction. Co-dependency, co-occurring disorders, support systems, medical/psychological/social/legal aspects of use, and relapse prevention are discussed in depth. This program is also used by local inpatient facilities as a step-down for treatment.
